Tender description
To design, create and install lighting artwork that Enhance safety and accessibility: Improve visibility and create a more welcoming atmosphere, encouraging safe passage through the underpass and reducing the fear of crime. Transform: Convert the underpass from a utilitarian space into an attractive and engaging public asset. Increasing positive perception of public and visitor impressions of Didcot when entering the Town through these key arterial spaces Reflect local identity: Incorporate elements that celebrate the history, culture, and character of the Didcot community. Enriching local identity, pride and sense of belonging. Create a lasting legacy: Produce durable and low-maintenance artwork that will enhance the underpass for years to come. Resulting in a lasting piece of public art that fosters community pride. Creating a sense of place: Reflecting the local community's identity, history, and culture through art. Wayfinding: Using art to help people navigate and orient themselves within the underpass and surrounding area. Improving the pedestrian experience through the artwork by making underpasses less intimidating and more welcoming, encouraging people to use them and promoting active transportation, supporting a healthy, safe and inclusive community. Attracting visitors and celebrating community: Unique and interesting public art that draw tourists and boost the local economy. Engaging local residents in the design and creation of public art to foster a sense of ownership and pride. Cultural expression: Providing a platform for artists to showcase their work and contribute to the cultural landscape of the area.
