Tender description

There are approximately 204 Radio and 200 CCTV Masts and Towers on the Iarnród Éireann telecommunications network with additional locations coming online in future years as part of the National GSM-R deployment. The IE telecoms tower infrastructure provides vital communications links to support the national transport network. There is also a third-party facility provided for the mobile network operators at defined locations on selected towers. It is the responsibility of IE to maintain a record of the masts and towers including all associated equipment and to certify that they are structurally sound and safe to climb. IE wishes to engage the services of a contractor to carry out regular inspections and necessary maintenance on the masts and towers. There is also a requirement to carry out rigging and testing and provide certification in respect of the installation of antennas and feeder cables on new and existing tower infrastructure throughout the network.
