Tender description

Gloucestershire County Council (GCC) are seeking a supplier to undertake investigation for the proposed cycleway between Bishop's Cleeve and Cheltenham adjacent to the A435. The proposed geotechnical engineering works involved with this are: • Hardstanding for the cycleway; • Extension of a cutting, potentially with the side supported by a mass gravity retaining wall; • Remediation of a defective embankment, through either a granular shoulder or soil nailing; • Stabilisation of an existing bridge abutment; • Reuse of excavated material as engineered fill; • Soakaway drains; and, • Bridge foundations A ground investigation is required to characterise ground and groundwater conditions to inform the design of these geotechnical engineering works.
