Tender description

A985 1 Kincardine Bridge is a multiple span form swing bridge crossing the River Forth between Kincardine, Fife, and the county of Falkirk. The structure was constructed in 1936 and since 1988 has not operated as a swing bridge. There are 5no. new 16 metre concrete southern piled viaduct spans, 9no. 50 feet (15.2 metre) concrete spans, 7no. southern 100 feet (30.4 metre) steel spans, 2no. 150 feet (45.6 metre) warren truss steel swing spans, 7no. northern 100 feet (30.4 metre) steel spans, and 3no. 60 feet (18.3 metre) steel spans. Deck refurbishment Works will also be required above to deck of the 50feet concrete spans to carry out deck refurbishment, which shall include: Surfacing and historic waterproofing removal Concrete repairs including CP Construction of a RC plinth and installation of VRS system Repair of historic parapets including blasting and painting and steelworks Deck waterproofing Expansion joints replacements. Below Deck Concrete repairs: Below deck there are numerous and significant concrete repairs, works shall include: Temporary access design Installation of temporary access Hydro demolition of defective concrete Concrete repairs including, cathodic protection.
