VEAT - Cleaning at Cavendish Building

Tender description

Intention to award a contract under Regulation 32 (2) (b) (ii) of the Public Contract Regulations 2015. This is a VEAT notice for a contract is to procure a cleaning contractor, over a period of 3 years, for the new Cavendish Building. The requirement to deliver significant local benefit has been assessed and can be best met by the supplier. The supplier is a Derby based Social enterprise, wholly owned by a Derbyshire charity, with a high positive social value & CSR impact, creating meaningful employment for refugees (paying the Real Living Wage), within the immediate locality of the building (with 90% of staff located within walking distance of the building). This contract award aligns to the University's strategic goals, including social mobility, and ensures that our Civic responsibilities to provide local benefit can be maximised.
