Pre-Market Engagement RFI - Fixed Telecoms Network Support

Tender description

Network Rail have their own National SDH Network, managed by their Network Management Centre (NMC). The network allows Network Rail to carry and transmit voice, data, signalling and radio services to the operational railway for the support of safe train movements. There are plans for a renewal and replacement of this network. However, this will take many years to complete. The SDH equipment is End of Life (EoL) / End of Support (EoS). As a result, standard Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) support and extended support is no longer available or has limited availability. Network Rail is seeking information from qualified suppliers who can provide a comprehensive long term support arrangement for the National SDH Network. This includes Repair & Return of Alcatel SDH Transmission Equipment and equipment forming the Data Communication Network (DCN) for the SDH network, Remote Technical Support and Helpdesk Support (Level 3/Tier3).
