Estates SW: Demolition and Alteration Works at Owenacurra, Midleton, Co. Cork for Health Service Executive

Demolitions and alterations at the Owenacurra Mental Health Rehabilitation Residence, Midleton, Co. Cork for the Health Service Executive. Works include demolition of the existing single storey Mental Health Unit including ancillary buildings and to prepare the site for the construction of a new single storey 10 No Bed Mental Health Community Rehabilitation Residence. The existing facility has been vacant since it was evacuated following the flooding event in Midleton in October 2023. There are live underground and overhead services at the site including electricity, telecoms, natural gas, towns water, foul and storm sewers with some of the underground services to be removed by the demolition contractor. ACMs were identified by a RDAS in the ceilings and floor coverings of the residence building, also in insulation materials in the boiler room. Waste materials will be removed from site by licenced contractors for disposal at licenced waste handling facilities. The contractor should visit the site during the tender period to familiarise themselves with the site restrictions and existing services and thereby allow in their tender for all temporary works necessary to keep the roads, footpath's and adjacent buildings operational during construction.
