Tender description

The site is located on the Merlin Park Regional Hospital campus, approximately 4km east of Galway City centre. Merlin Park Regional Hospital campus was originally built as a tuberculosis sanatorium, which has been developed and contains various healthcare facilities and ancillary buildings. The site is bordered by Merlin woods to the north and open meadow area to the south. The site is located centrally and towards the southern end of the hospital campus, bounded by the Nephrology and Outpatients buildings to the north with Unit 5 and 6 Long Stay Geriatric buildings to the south. Access to the site will be via the hospital’s main entrance road located off the Old Dublin Regional Road R338 located to the west and south of the proposed site. The proposed site is located in greenfield areas of the campus and the topography of the site is generally flat.
