Tender description

The customer, who works at the Roslin institute, is working on developing a new novel end to end spectrometer device. (Spectrometry is the science of measurement conducted using light and other forms of radiation on matter). The spectrometer will be an assembly of three units; a laser to vaporise a sample, a sample-handling system to capture and freeze the vapour/aerosol, and a new type of spectrometer called a Capilliary Absorption Spectrometer to conduct analysis. The three units must be able to interface with eachother via control software to synchronise sample management and analysis. This purchase is for the middle component – a sample handling machine which captures, freezes and manages the samples and passes them to the Spectrometer.
