OPW Backweston Campus Perimeter Intruder Detection System (PIDS)

Tender description

This project will take place on the Backweston Campus, Co. Kildare. The Backweston Campus is a stand-alone OPW campus comprising various facilities for the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, the State Laboratory and Forensic Science Ireland (FSI). The works consists of the supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of a security perimeter detection system, including CCTV, and all associated electrical and ICT works required to support the deployment of the security technologies. This includes the supply and installation of a LV distribution system, fibre optic cabling and network equipment. The project will also require civil works to be undertaken to facilitate this security system installation which will consist of a mixture of provision of cable trenches through soft grounds, making good of same, installation of cable ducting, cable manholes, structural plinths for external cabinets and CCTV poles as well as tying into existing civil ducting infrastructure. Works will be in close proximity to live underground utility services in parts. Estimate for project duration is approximately 12 weeks and estimated Cost of these Works is €850,000.
