First Stop Accommodation

Tender description

1st Stop Accommodation Services are provided to persons aged 16 years or over (unless accompanied by a parent/guardian) in their Ferniegair, Hamilton property which is comprised of nine ensuite rooms, plus two rooms with shared bathroom facilities and access to shared kitchen and dining room facilities. The Council can make referrals to the project at any time during the day or night and, therefore, the provider must ensure that they can accept residents and provide a housing management service 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, subject to the availability of rooms. All service users will have approached South Lanarkshire Council for homelessness assistance and will be roofless as the time of referral. This contract will run from 1 December 2024 to 30 November 2025. Lot 1: Wheatley Care were awarded the contract to provide 1st Stop Accommodation Services to persons aged 16 years or over (unless accompanied by a parent/guardian) in their Ferniegair, Hamilton property which is comprised of nine ensuite rooms, plus two rooms with shared bathroom facilities and access to shared kitchen and dining room facilities. As competition was absent for technical reasons, a negotiated procedure took place resulting in Wheatley Care being awarded this contract. The previous contract for 1st Stop Accommodation, SLC/PS/SW/20/076, started on 01 July 2023 and lapsed on 30 June 2024. Following this, the contract was extended for a period of 5 months, until 30 November 2024. This short term contract is to allow for a wider open procurement process.
