Pheasant Close Infiltration Test and Drainage Design

Tender description

The Wokingham, Flood Risk and Drainage team commissioned works to undertake infiltration tests and drainage design in Pheasant Close, Winnersh. The council is currently aware of surface water drainage problems at Pheasant Close, Winnersh resulting in ponding of water on the road surface. It is understood that that there are no sewers or other private drains into which drainage could be connected. It is currently believed that the area is drained through soakaways which are not currently functioning effectively despite cleaning and maintenance. Options being explored include the retrofit of permeable pavement solutions within the existing carriageway to provide interception losses, additional water storage in the sub-base and maximise the potential for some infiltration over a wide area.
