Dear Bus Operator, We are pleased to invite you to a collaborative engagement event to discuss how we can work together to deliver the best possible public transport services across the Cumberland area. Date: Thursday 27 March 2025 Venue: The Old Fire Station, Peter Street, Carlisle, CA3 8PQ Contact Old Fire Station Arrival: From 4.45pm Welcome and Introduction: 5.00pm Pie and Pea Supper: 5.30pm Discussion and Collaboration Session: 6.00pm – 7.30pm As you may know, Cumberland Council has secured £5 million in funding from the Department for Transport to drive significant improvements to local bus services. Following our recent public consultation, we have a clearer picture of the services our residents would like to see. Now, we want to work in partnership with you – our valued bus operators – to explore how we can bring these plans to life. This session will provide an opportunity to share your insights, discuss challenges, and help shape the future of bus services in the area. Your input is vital to ensuring we create a network that works for both operators and passengers.
