Tender description

Havering specialist mental health crisis pathway is made up of inpatient beds, psychiatric liaison, crisis resolution and home treatment teams, clinical decision unit, and a 24-hour Mental Health Direct Line. These services are delivering largely positive outcomes for users, carers and families. There is significant capacity issues and rising demand impacting on the services’ ability to respond in a timely way based on recent ED attendance data This delay to access is placing increasing pressure on the emergency services, such as ED, LAS, and Police, as people experiencing mental health crisis seek quicker access to support elsewhere. The model set out in this specification will deliver better patient outcomes by offering an additional option in the local system for crisis support that is accessible out of hours and provides an alternative to NHS emergency care provision in Havering. This option will be a non-clinical offering a therapeutic and social support in an approach that ensure care is delivered with a patient centred engaged way.
