ED0284-23 Update of Advice Note 2: Accommodating Wind and Solar PV Developments in Devon’s Landscape

Devon has an outstanding environment encompassing many protected and valued landscapes. It is also endowed with a very favourable wind and solar resource with good grid connections, making it an attractive location for renewable energy developments. To help balance the requirement for renewable energy provision with the conservation of its high-quality landscape in 2013 the Devon Landscape Policy Group (DLPG) published Advice Note 2 – Accommodating Wind and Solar PV in Devon’s Landscape (AN2). Ten years on there is a need to update the document to reflect changing priorities in respect of climate change, advances in renewables technology and increase in scale of installations and to reflect learning from recent installations. There is also opportunity to move to a web-based format improving accessibility and providing non-technical guidance for use by community groups.
