The Food and Drink sector in Wales is varied, with many elements that contribute to the success of the industry in Wales. We are aware that certain sectors within the industry such as Butchery, Seafood and Food Technology have been finding it difficult to recruit and retain new people to pursue careers in these areas for a number of years, and we are keen to ascertain the current situation in Wales. In establishing what the current issues are we can then use data to help focus our efforts, prioritising the sectors in order of urgency. We are looking for an experienced individual or company to undertake work to create a suite of educational resources for Key Stage 3&4, linked to the Curriculum for Wales, to support the work undertaken by the project of raising awareness of the opportunities available as careers within the Welsh Food & Drink industry, also taking into account the routes to achieve these careers.
