BALLYMACVEA LANDFILL SITE LABORATORY ANALYSIS SERVICES

Tender description

Tenders are invited from experienced and competent laboratories to provide laboratory analysis services on water quality to Mid and East Antrim Borough Council for a period of 2 years with the possibility for an additional 2 x 12 months based on project performance. The introduction of the Landfill Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2003, and the issuing of Ballymacvea Landfill Site with a modified Waste Management Licence (WML) have led to an increase in the environmental monitoring requirements at the above site and under the WML there is a requirement to undertake analysis of groundwater, leachate and surface water in accordance with the tender specification. Regulation 14(6) of the Landfill Regulations requires the quality control of the analytical operations of the control and monitoring procedures to be carried out by competent laboratories (for example, those subject to a third party accreditation scheme). This contract is for the provision of the following services: (i) Laboratory analysis of samples using stated methods of analysis; (ii) Laboratory turnaround time of 10 days; (iii) Provision of sample containers; (iv) Couriering of samples from Ballymacvea Landfill Site, Mid and East Antrim Borough Council offices; and (v) Sample handling, analysis and reporting.
