Galway City Council - Architect led multi-disciplinary design team consultancy services - Cross Street Rejuvenation

Tender description

Galway City Council, the “Client”, intends to carry out, in a comprehensive and planned manner, a regeneration project for Cross Street, Middle Street, Buttermilk Lane, and Buttermilk Walk to rejuvenate and transform these public realm spaces in accordance with international best practice. The project aligns with the National Strategic Objectives (NSO’s) and policy objectives of the National Planning Framework (NPF) and with the Growth Ambitions of the Regional Spatial and Economic Strategy (RSES) and Metropolitan Area Strategic Plan (MASP). Similarly, the project aligns with the objectives of the Galway City Council Development Plan 2023-2029, Galway City Council’s Public Realm Strategy and aligns to the objectives of the Galway Transport Strategy 2016. The streets are integrated with the development strategy for the city set out in the CDP which is to be a sustainable, competitive regional city supporting city growth, improved connectivity, delivery of recreation/amenity and cultural infrastructure and enhancing the character of the city and its distinctive natural, built and cultural heritage.
