ISO 45001 / 14001 Accreditation Scope The University is ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System certified. Both certificates were recertified in August 2022 for three years by an accredited external certification awarding body. The University operates an Integrated Management System (IMS) which incorporates the requirements of both ISO standards, across all UK based campuses and activities, except for activities held at the UCLan Burnley Princess Way site which are managed by Burnley College and the University’s Student Union, which is a separate entity, neither fall under the scope of the University’s ISO accreditations. The University’s IMS and its compliance with the requirements of ISO 45001 and 14001 are subject to 6 monthly surveillance assessments conducted in person by external ISO accredited auditors. The surveillance audits sample compliance across all campuses on a scheduled rolling basis through document reviews, interviews and observation of activities, facilities and process.
