Tree Planting on the Glenlivet Estate

Tender description

To supply tree planting services (142,500 trees) to allow completion of restocking programme in spring 2024.The tender covers twelve restock sites as listed in the Invitation to Tender. The following 12 planting jobs have been specified: Site 1 (Tom a Chor/Compartment 196)- (BEAT UP SCOTS PINE) approximately 22,000 bare root Scots pine to be planted on hinge mounds (original stocking density at 2700 mounds per hectare). Planting specification approximately 11 hectares/62% beat up. Original planting completed spring 2023. HINGE MOUNDING COMPLETED OCTOBER 2021. SITE INSIDE DEER FENCE. Site 2 (Carn Meilich/Compartment 204)- approximately 16,000 bare root Sitka spruce to be planted on hinge mounds at 2700 mounds per hectare. HINGE MOUNDING COMPLETED FEBRUARY 2023. SITE INSIDE DEER FENCE. Site 3 (Carn Meilich/Compartment 203)- approximately 14,000 bare root Scots pine to be planted on hinge mounds at 2700 mounds per hectare. Site 6 (Carn Meilich/Compartment 203)- approximately 2,500 bare root mixed broadleaves to be planted (with 1.2m tree shelters and stakes) on hinge mounds at 2700 mounds per hectare. Site 7 (Carn Meilich/Compartment 204)- (BEAT UP OF SCOTS PINE) approximately 29,000 Scots pine to be planted on hinge mounds (original stocking density 2700 mounds per hectare). Planting specification approximately 10 hectares/85% beat up. Original planting completed spring 2023. HINGE MOUNDING COMPLETED OCTOBER 2021. SITE INSIDE DEER FENCE. Site 8 (Carn Daimh/Compartment 186)- approximately 2,000 bare root Sitka spruce to be planted on hinge mounds at 2700 mounds per hectare. HINGE MOUNDING COMPLETED OCTOBER 2021. SITE INSIDE DEER FENCE. Site 9 (Inchnacape Wood/Compartment 41)- approximately 10,000 bare root Sitka spruce to be planted on hinge mounds at 2700 mounds per hectare. Site 10 (Inchnacape Wood/Compartment 40)- approximately 12,500 bare root Sitka spruce to be planted on hinge mounds at 2700 mounds per hectare. HINGE MOUNDING COMPLETED APRIL 2023. Site 11 (Clashwood/Compartment 72/73)- (BEAT UP OF SITKA SPRUCE) approximately 3,500 Sitka spruce to be planted on hinge mounds (original stocking density 2,700 mounds per hectare). Planting specification approximately 9 hectares/15% beat up. Original planting completed winter 2021. HINGE MOUNDING COMPLETED OCTOBER 2021. SITE INSIDE DEER FENCE. Site 12 (Carran Hill/Compartment 338)- (BEAT UP OF SCOTS PINE/SITKA SPRUCE) approximately 10,000 Sitka spruce to be planted on hinge mounds (original stocking density 2,700 mounds per hectare). Planting specification approximately 9 hectares/25% beat up). Original planting completed spring 2022. HINGE MOUNDING COMPLETED OCTOBER 2021. PLEASE NOTE THE ABOVE FIGURES FOR TREE NUMBERS BY SITE ARE ESTIMATES ONLY AND MAY BE DIFFERENT WHEN THE PLANTING IS COMPLETED. Must have project completed with all outputs delivered by the end of April 2024 (weather permitting). Project is expected to take around 6 weeks (weather dependent).
