Invitation to Tender for Design Services for the replacement of existing prefab units on site with new Modular units and all associated site works

Tender description

On behalf of Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board, you are hereby invited to tender for Design Services (including buying in of additional services for other disciplines as required) for the above project. This project involves the replacement of existing teaching accommodation on site with new modular units. The estimated overall cost of the project including vat and fees is in the region of €750,000.00. See appendix A for full scope of works and note the following items; • The Design Team is responsible for all required statutory consents (as required), and the certification of the completed project in relation to both (1) The Planning and Development Regulations. 2001 to September 2023 (and as amended by proposed ’24 amendments) and (2) the Building Control Regulations 1997 to 2021. • The Design Team are to confirm undertaking the role of PSDP for the Design Process, and that the nominated person has the necessary competence to carry out the relevant duties. • The Design Team are to ensure full compliance with Department of Education (DoE) Design Guidance located at https://www.gov.ie/en/publication/7e515-technicalguidance- documents/ . Particular attention is drawn to the requirements of TGD-001, Prefabricated 3D modular accommodation and existing buildings temporarily used as accommodation for schools, 2020. A dispensation from any of the guidance contained in the DoE documentation may be applied for in writing. Noting also that compliance with the SDG Documentation will be dictated by sector specific guidance for modular teaching accommodation to be issued by DoE in Q1 2024; SDG-02-05-06 Design Guidance for Modular and Modern Methods of Construction for School Buildings. • The design team is to investigate adaptive re-use of the container units located to the rear of the subject site, on the subject site, or at another LCETB site for any other use including general storage, where the condition of the existing units will allow.
