PCI_LotA_117 Totton Bypass No 2 Cycleway provision

Tender description

This scope of this is to design a solution to provide a cycleway on the southernmost side of the Totton Bypass No 2 bridge. This bridge carries the A35 in Totton over the entrance to Eling Wharf. The existing bridge is low and there are indications that lorries from the wharf have scrapped the soffit of the bridge. The existing layout of the bridge means there are pinch points in the footway here. The cycleway provision will be achieved by installation of a footbridge or widening of the existing structure. The following items will be required: - Overarching aim is to design a solution to the cycleway issue - Production of feasibility design, preliminary agreements and AIP documentation. Upon agreement of the AIP a further commission may be issued for detailed design.
