Designing new woodlands for biodiversity within Wild Strathfillan.

We require an ecological consultant to provide services in relation to the design of woodland creation projects on two land holdings within the Wild Strathfillan project area. The consultant is required to: - evaluate existing conditions, - identify potential constraints, - and create a design that maximizes biodiversity in this landscape. The successful consultant will have a detailed knowledge of the biodiversity potential of woodland habitats along with experience of implementing best-practice management to maximise benefits to biodiversity. They must also demonstrate extensive experience in woodland creation and ecological design, knowledge of local ecology, biodiversity, and relevant environmental policies and experience of working on similar projects. The selected consultant will be expected to deliver a woodland design for both described sites, to ultimately enable the delivery of new, well designed, native woodlands. The scope of this contract includes: 1. Site visits 2. Site survey and baseline assessment 3. Woodland design and planting strategy 4. Biodiversity and habitat enhancement plan 5. The woodland design must take into consideration: - Site constraints and accessibility. - Permissions such as SSSI consent, felling consents etc. - Wider landscape connectivity. 6.
