Tender description

We are currently milking approximately 200 Holstein cows through a 2 x 12 herringbone milking parlour with low level doubled-up Fullwood milking equipment operated by one person. Circa 80 cows are currently milked three times per day (at 8 hour intervals) with the remainder milked two times per day (i.e., approximately 480 individual milkings per day). The cows are housed in the same building as the milking parlour using cubicles bedded with mats and recycled newspaper.The installation has an extended pit which would readily accept two additional units per side. With minimal building works it may be possible to increase this to four additional units per side i.e.an increase to a 2 x16 herringbone milking parlour.The principal requirement is to increase milk harvesting to cover 210 Holstein cows being milked 3 times per day i.e. 630 milkings per day.Full details are within the attached invitation to tender.
