Contract for the Supply of Bio-mass Fuel. The Office for National Statistics' (ONS) property in Newport have two Endress USF-W Biomass Boilers 1Mw in output which use wood pellets. The units were installed and commissioned in 2010. ONS would only use gas as a temporary back up in the absence of an adequate wood supply. The boilers are fed from two 30 tonne capacity wood silos. Lot 1: Supply of Bio-mass Fuel. The heating season runs from the 1st October to the 30th April. Historic consumption figures indicate that ONS use 200-400 tonnes of pellet per annum, 30-60 tonne per month dependent upon weather conditions.
