Market Engagement for West Yorkshire Respitality Service: Breaks for Carers

City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council on behalf of the five West Yorkshire Councils and the West Yorkshire Integrated Care System are hosting a Market engagement event in preparation for the imminent procurement of a DHSC funded Carers Breaks Initiative with the aims of: • Connecting unpaid carers living in West Yorkshire to hospitality, tourism, culture and leisure businesses who are willing to donate a break opportunity free of charge. • Developing and designing a bespoke digital platform where information on breaks will be uploaded. This Service will be a new initiative across the five West Yorkshire Local Authorities that meets our shared ambition to improve support for unpaid carers by enabling them to have a break from caring by connecting them to hospitality, tourism, and leisure businesses who are willing to donate a break opportunity free of charge. Indicative timescales for tender: Tender launch date – 16th December 2024 Application return date – 27th January 2025 Award date – 28th February 2025 Contract start date – 1st April 2025 There is a tight timeline over the Christmas period. This is a central government fund and due to a change of government this fund was being reviewed. We have very recently been approved these funds.
