Integrated Mental Health and Substance Use Support Pilot Programme

The Integrated Rehabilitation Pilot for People with Co-occurring Mental Health and Substance Use Needs is a project designed to address the complex needs of individuals facing both severe mental illness and substance misuse challenges. Funded through the 2024-2025 Supplementary Substance Misuse Treatment and Recovery (SSMTR) Grant from Central Government, this initiative aims to provide a comprehensive and coordinated approach to care. The project will involve joint mental health and substance assessments, the development of holistic care plans, and the delivery of integrated interventions by secondary mental health psychiatrists and social workers. A dedicated mental health care coordinator will ensure seamless coordination of clinical care across both mental health and substance use services. Additionally, personalised budgets will be provided to individuals to help meet their immediate basic needs and support further social and emotional development, fostering long-term recovery and well-being. This pilot represents an innovative approach to supporting individuals with complex, co-occurring conditions and aims to improve outcomes by providing more integrated, tailored care.
