GATE AUTOMATION PROJECT - REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

Tender description

The Felixstowe Dock and Railway Company has a requirement for the digital capture of cargo details through automated inspection technology and is seeking information on potential solutions. There are various checkpoint and operating models within the Port where this information is captured or validated manually at present, including haulier gating of containers and RoRo trailers, rail container discharge and load operation, vessel discharge and load operation and security checkpoints. We are interested to learn more from experts in the field of image processing to capture the specific container numbers and vehicle registrations, but also the condition of the containers, for example any dents, holes or structural damage that may prevent acceptance by the port or indeed the lifting of the container. The information captured will need to be presented to the ports local systems in a timely manner to ensure the continued operational practice.
