Medical Assessments for clients in housing need

Provide medical recommendations to assist the Housing Needs Department in respect of decision-making for applicants who approach the Council with housing need. They also provide recommendations for housing application reviews on medical grounds. The services are required in order to seek recommendations from medical professionals, who are not involved in the initial assessment of housing applications. This enables the Council to have a better understanding of the nature of a housing applicant’s medical condition and how this medical condition affects their current housing circumstances. Additionally, it assists in determining the type of housing that would be suitable for households in need. There is also provision for a second opinion which would be required for those cases where a client challenges the initial medical recommendation. Keywords: Medical Assessments, Housing need
