FLS-0072-C Timber Haulage 2024

Tender description

FLS has a requirement to place a contract with external Service Providers for the provision of Timber Haulage. FLS requires the haulage of small round wood timber from its North, Central, East and West regions to various mills across the UK in order to fulfil delivered-in requirement of some of the lots of the Small Round Wood Long-term contracts (SRW LTCs) where the customers have opted for delivered-in service. These customers are not at liberty to opt out over the term of the SRW LTC. This contract shall cover delivered-in requirements to various customer mills across Scotland. The costs associated with the delivered-in element of this contract shall be passed on to the respective SRW LTCs customers that opted in for the service at cost without mark-up. As a result, there may be need to share pricing information including open book breakdown to the respective SRW LTC customers and the suppliers will be made aware of this within the tender documents. In addition to fulfilling the delivered-in requirement of the SRW LTC, the contract will also provide for in-wood haulage for Central region, and occasional ad-hoc timber haulage within the regions. In order to align with our Timber Sales Contract, this contract will run for an initial period of 4 years and 11 months, commencing 01 May 2024 with option to extend for a further 5 years. Lot 1: Moray & Aberdeenshire (West Fraser) Haulage of small round wood timber from Moray and Aberdeenshire area to our Customer - West Fraser in Inverness and occasional work to cover Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) ad-hoc Timber Haulage within the area. Lot 2: North Region (West Fraser) Haulage of small round wood timber from North Region to our Customer - West Fraser in Inverness and occasional ad-hoc timber haulage within the region. Lot 3: Lochaber (West Fraser) Haulage of small round wood timber from Lochaber area to our Customer - West Fraser in Inverness and occasional work to cover Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) ad-hoc Timber Haulage within the area. Lot 4: Tay (RWE) Haulage of small round wood timber from Tay area to our Customer - RWE Cardenden in Lochgelly and occasional work to cover Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) ad-hoc Timber Haulage within the area. Lot 5: Moray & Aberdeenshire (RWE) Haulage of small round wood timber from Moray and Aberdeenshire area to our Customer - RWE Cardenden in Lochgelly and occasional work to cover Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) ad-hoc Timber Haulage within the area. Lot 6: Central Region (Egger) Haulage of small round wood timber from Central Region to our Customer - Egger (UK) in Cumnock and occasional work to cover Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) ad-hoc Timber Haulage within the Region. Lot 7: In-wood Timber Haulage Services within the Cowal & Trossachs In-wood area of the Central Region that require the usage of specialist vehicles as detailed in the specification document to move timber to the Hoish transfer point. This lot also covers ad-hoc requirement for the In-wood area.
