Tender description

Repair and strengthening works to Cardross Bridge Lot 1: The refurbishment of a three span Category B Listed masonry arch bridge, in accordance with the approved Listed Building Consent, including but not limited to the following: - Removal of existing surfacing (inc. coal tar) and granular backfill to the bridge structure. - Take down and rebuilt existing upstream and downstream parapets. - Take down and rebuild existing bulging downstream spandrel wall - Removal of cementitious mortar to existing extents of bridge fabric and replace with lime mortar pointing. - Install new concrete backfill to structure inc. separation layer. - Install grouted anchors to repair arch barrel and cutwater separation and undertake crack stitch repairs as necessary. - Install scour protection to perimeter of both piers in dry conditions. - Provision of all temporary access to facilitate the demolition and construction works. - Resurface carriageway over the structure.
