Tender description

Reagent Kits, Wash Buffers and Solid Resources/misc consumables Lot 1: The UK Dementia Research Institute (UK-DRI) is a national institute with 7 centres across the UK, one of which is based at The University of Edinburgh, Bio Quarter. The UK-DRI brings together both discovery research and translational research to better understand neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Motor Neuron Disease and to identify disease modifying therapies. The Simoa HD-X Analyzer from Quanterix Corporation (located at the UK-DRI in Edinburgh) is a fully automated instrument that performs digital ELISA immunoassays at unprecedented levels of sensitivity. This system was purchased under a Non-Competitive Action (Contract Award NOV400699) in November 2020 and commissioned in April 2021. To operate effectively, the Simoa HD-X Analyzer requires specific System Fluid Resources (Wash Buffers and System Sealing Oil), System Solid Resources (cuvettes, pipette tips, Simoa array discs, 96-well plates and plate seals) and biomarker specific Advantage PLUS Reagent Kits. Quanterix Corporation is the ONLY manufacturer and supplier of these items. The UK-DRI/UoE therefore are procuring the Neurology 2-Plex B (NFL/GFAP) Advantage PLUS Reagent Kits, Wash Buffers and Solid Resources, from Quanterix Corporation, that are required to measure the serum concentrations of NFL and GFAP in 1088 participants of the MND-SMART clinical trial.. n/a
