Tender description

The Salford Residents Funeral Service (the Service) shall be provided as and when required by the residents of Salford City. The Contract Period shall be from the 1st October 2025 to 30th September 2028 with an option to extend for two 12 month periods until 30th September 2030, depending on supplier performance/agreement between the parties. Salford City Council are looking for a partnership with a funeral director to provide a low cost all-inclusive funeral package that covers:- • Cremation or burial cost • Collection of the deceased (from within the borough) • The use of the funeral director’s chapel of rest • The funeral directors services of arranging and supervising the funeral • A hearse and one following limousine • A suitable oak (or similar) finished coffin with engraved nameplate, interior and appropriate handles • The Doctor fees and the cost for the clergy of your choice for the crematorium or grave side service. But ultimately a service which when viewed by the average bystander is not noticeably different from that provided by other funeral directors.
