RSPB Lake Vyrnwy: Native tree planting 2024

Tender description

The RSPB at Lake Vyrnwy area seeking a contractor to plant 6500 native trees on our reserve, to enhance tree cover in line with our ‘Treescape plan’.Trees will mainly be 40cm bare root specification, however the RSPB may supply some larger trees for planting, if it is deemed appropriate to enhance the tree age structure within the planting area.Trees are to be planted on a 20 hectare area of bracken dominated hillside, at a density of 325 stems per hectare. It is imperative that trees are planted in a random/clumped style to simulate natural colonisation, not in straight rows, with spacing between trees increasing with elevation.
