Ocean Country Partnership Programme: Ghana Beyond MPA Designation in Ghana (Research and Development)

Tender description

The UK Government's Ocean Country Partnership Programme (OCPP) is a UK-led programme funded through the UK's Blue Planet Fund. The OCPP provides demand-led technical assistance in marine science to partner countries, supporting them to overcome challenges that threaten marine environments and the livelihoods that depend on them. Ghana has designated five coastal lagoons as Ramsar sites and are currently aiming to designate the first Marine Protected Area (MPA) in Ghana as part of the implementation of the Sustainable Ocean Plan. This work intends to develop the foundational building blocks to address key gaps in furthering understanding on the longer-term benefit of MPAs and to support Ghana's stakeholders in taking action to effectively and sustainably manage their marine environment.
