Lot 1: GCID (Glasgow City Innovation District) (administered by the University of Strathclyde) has been awarded UK Govt Shared Prosperity Fuding to deliver a Venture Studio – a series of innovation programmes across 4 pillars of activity where multiple projects and businesses collaborate. This pillar, Make Pillar, offers a highly interactive space where diverse projects and businesses collaborate to bring their visions to life. The Supplier will be responsible for delivering a hands-on innovation development programme that will help companies (early stage and established) to design, prototype and prepare a new product or service. The Supplier is required to provide a list of key tasks and activities required to mobilise and implement the contract. Time will be of the essence in this contract. The Supplier will be required to identify the time and resource implications required from the University in order to implement and mobilise the contract, being mindful of the University’s Responsibilities above. The Supplier will be responsible for outlining a delivery programme that supports up to 15 innovators to deliver tangible, commercialisable outputs whether the starting point is a sketch of a concept or a prototype requiring refinement. There will be three components to this support: - Design Thinking: Delivering expert-led workshops and sessions that teach the principles of design thinking—a creative problem-solving approach that ensures products are not only innovative but also user-centred, and this will require an element of real market testing. - Develop innovation assets: Access to expertise, tools, technologies and methodologies that enable the creation of prototypes and refine product designs effectively. - Networking and collaborative workspaces: Build a sustainable community of Makers and mentors to that will continue beyond this programme. The Supplier will also be required to assess participants (in conjunction with GCID) to determine if grant support should be awarded during the programme to allow participants to progress their innovation. A physical space should be identified for the service delivery, located within the Glasgow City Innovation District. All grant funding must be spent by the end of March. The expected grant budget is estimated at GBP120,000.. There is a Market Engagement Questionnaire posted within the Additional Documents section. All interested parties must register their interest no later than Wednesday the 31st July and it would be appreciated if this Market Engagement Questionnaire could also be completed and returned to amy.irvine@strath.ac.uk no later than close of business Wednesday the 31st July.
