Looking to purchase a robotic system to support Kew Digitisation project into automated capture of 3D and diverse specimens (microscope slides, spirit collection contents, library and archives material). Use of automation 360 degree robotic aided image capture for multiple types of challenging specimen - Evaluation of gripper configurations to align to the scope of Kew Collections - glass, delicate, large leafed - Training and upskilling of Collection / Curation staff for image capture and new accessions using robotic technology to support continuous of image ingestion for Collections New Acquisitions (~40k items per year) now and going forward. - Cross use by Library and Archives, Research and Collections - Potential use for Citizen engagement and science visualization and outreach
