CO0518 BRINGING COMMUNITY SUPERMARKETS TO ESSEX - PHASE 4 (UTTLESFORD)

Tender description

This tender specification seeks to establish a, not for profit, Community Supermarket to support Rural Uttlesford. Priority areas for this tender are based on the 2019 Indices of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) and areas with high levels of council/social housing overlaid with data relating to Foodbank use and Free School Meals. It is a requirement that any Community Supermarket is established with the involvement of other local, public, voluntary and community sector stakeholders, as well as local-residents and service users. Uttlesford Foodbank and Touchpoint Foodshare are key partners in the delivery of this project and any proposals will need to demonstrate collaboration with these organisations. The Community Supermarket model provides support for individuals who have experienced financial crisis, and who have been supported by Food Banks to regain some financial control. In addition, the model supports individuals and families who fluctuate above and below the line of financial security, by providing a consistent point of support to avoid them falling into financial crisis.
