Tender description

The scheme consists of the reconfiguration and signalisation of the existing B9006/C1036 Junction. Lot 1: The scheme consists of the reconfiguration and signalisation of the existing B9006/C1036 Junction, in particular - The taking up/down of approx. 500m of kerbing, existing signage, street lighting a traffic count camera and general site clearance. - Excavation and disposal of existing footway, verge and a large splitter island. - Installation of 2 new drainage gullies with associated connection. - Installation of approx. 500m of new kerbing - Laying of approx. 600m2 of new footway - Laying approximately 600m2 of new carriageways of varying depths. - Installation of roadmarkings - Installation of new signage - Installation of new street lighting (columns, luminaires and connections to be provided by The Highland Council. - Installation of approximately 130m of ducting in both footway and carriageway for streetlighting - Installation of approximately 140m of ducting in footway and carriageway for traffic signals - Installation of traffic signal duct boxes and pole footings (to be supplied by the Highland Council) - Installation of traffic signal poles, heads, and controller (to be supplied by the Highland Council) - Co-ordination and attendance while Openreach carry out inspection chamber reconstruction and associated ducting. - Co-ordination and attendance while SSE carry out diversions of 11Kv cables - Co-ordination attendance while Vodafone adjust one inspection chamber. - Co-ordination attendance while City fibre adjust one inspection chamber. A limited duration four week road closure of the C1036, between the junction with the B9006 and U1124 will available to the contractor. (E 271040,N 844349 to E 271193, N 844601) Traffic flow on the B9006 shall be maintained at all times, although temporary traffic signal control is permitted but must be manually controlled during peak hours. Contract award date is expected to be mid April 2024 and works are expected to commence two weeks following award.
