Engagement Event - Westmorland and Furness Grounds Maintenance Services

Westmorland and Furness Council is looking to invite interested parties to take part in a supplier engagement process regarding the provision of grounds maintenance and associated services in the Westmorland and Furness area. We would welcome interest from different sized suppliers who are interested in one or multiple lots within the wider contract provision. This may include general and specialist providers. These will organised into technical groupings as below: • Parks and Open Space Grounds Maintenance • Cemetery Grounds Maintenance and Operations • Playing Pitches These contracts currently deliver a variety of services including but not limited to: grass cutting; shrub bed maintenance; hedge maintenance; rose bed maintenance; litter removal and bin emptying; sweeping and cleaning; planting and maintenance of flower beds; cemetery grave digging; pesticide application; cleaning of play equipment and play areas; watercourse maintenance and grid clearances; maintenance and refurbishment of playing pitches; well as other horticultural and maintenance tasks on a regular and ad-hoc relating to the management of these spaces. The new suite of contracts is being sought to manage these spaces initially across the Barrow and South Lakeland localities.
