R024 - Cost Consultant for Boho X

Gardiner & Theobald were appointed by BCEGI to be the contract administrator and cost consultant for the development of Boho X by Galliford Try. Gardiner and Theobald were procured by BCEGI up to the completion of the construction contract. Galliford Try completed the construction works on Boho X in June 2024 and the building was handed over to the tenant in August 24. Following the handover of the building and the tenant fit out there have been a number of areas that require additional works from Galliford Try to rectify issues within the building. The Council is looking to procure Gardiner & Theobald to act as the cost consultant to ensure that all required works are within the original scope of the building contract and are rectified in a timely manner. They will review any costs and verify that the works sit within or outside the original contract and ensure that any additional costs are in line with expected rates and confirm it is value for money. As Gardiner and Theobald were the cost consultant and contract administrator on the original construction contract for Boho X they have a knowledge of the construction contract and are best placed to provide advice of any works that sit within the contract and should be carried out by Galliford Try within that or any works that are outside of the contract. There is sufficient budget available within the approved capital code for Boho X to cover the additional works required.
