Tender description

Re-Roofing and Renovation Works at Block A, Merlin Park Hospital, Galway for Health Service Executive. Block A is a three-storey administration block to the north of the hospital site. The subject site is bounded to the north and west by Merlin Park Woods and is surrounded to the south and east by various hospital campus buildings (both administrative/educational, and medical) which will remain in use. The proposed works incorporate up-grade works to existing varying types of flat roofs of the Block A Building. The building will remain in use during the works. The works associated with this contract include but is not limited to the following: ● The demolition of a section of sheltered area on the 4th floor roof – Elements making up this structure to be demolished include a section of concrete and masonry wall including concrete wall capping, an in-situ concrete roof (up to 300mm deep), a concrete drop beam which connects a number of structural concrete columns, the concrete columns, additional concrete wall capping on the southern elevation, concrete paviors. ● Installation of new insulated bitumen roof system, ● Installation of new gutter/rainwater systems and aluminium facias, ● Installation of new aluminium parapet cappings, ● Installation of new guardrails to selected existing parapets, ● Installation of new circular rooflights to replace existing, ● Partial demolition, recapping and venting of existing chimneys, ● Installation of new ballasted edge protection w/ integrated walkway, ● Installation of PV panels ● Internal works for installation of containment for pipework and cabling and associated firestopping, the builders work for these will require some concrete cutting coring. Some of the required opes are letterbox 700 x 200 opes and will require installation of lentils and TWD for same. ● Removal and reinstatement of existing CATV service cabling and antennae on the roof to allow new roof insulation to be installed. ● Relocation of existing air conditioning systems and associated ME works ● Relocation of a number of ME items on roof and re-connecting
