Though not necessarily in direct contact with or involved in responding to incidents related to suicide many working in this capacity experience routine exposure to the detail of deaths by suicide which can impact on their own mental health and wellbeing. NHS Sussex Integrated Care Board (NHS Sussex ICB) has recognised the impact on some non-frontline staff and have identified a gap in the support available. In response, East Sussex Public Health, on behalf of NHS Sussex, is required to commission a programme of wellbeing support including Reflective Practice for small groups for staff who work to support frontline Suicide Prevention across Sussex. Additional one-to-one support will also be offered should the need arise.
