Since early 2023, the Community Wellbeing Project (CWP) has been piloted to trial the delivery of a support model focused on providing access to hot lunch and evening meals, weekly food shopping, as well as providing comprehensive wraparound support to members. The aim of the scheme is to increase community resilience, tackle food insecurity and provide holistic interventions to better support residents in the long term, and to prevent vulnerable families from experiencing severe financial crisis. Evaluation of the Community Wellbeing Project pilot model has shown it is effective in supporting residents both through its core purpose, as well as by connecting them with aligned services and other local support. The current pilot arrangements of the CWP will conclude at the end of September 2024. Brent Council officers have further developed and aligned the pilot service to become a core part of a more cohesive, sustainable and longer-term model. The model (aka the Community Wellbeing Programme) includes greater alignment and connectivity with wider Brent offers and initiatives. The Community Wellbeing Service is a key part of the programme. It will be expected to support up to 1,000 residents and families annually with a 3-month membership, commencing in October 2024, and will be based at the New Millenium Centre. Interested suppliers are encouraged to attend the Market Engagement session to view the facilities available on site. The Session will provide further detail to the upcoming tender and an opportunity to ask Brent Council any preliminary queries. If you wish to discuss this further, or have any questions, please contact Marta Portalska, Change and Improvement Project Manager, Marta.Portalska@brent.gov.uk” Keywords: community, food
