Tender description

This contract comprises the construction of traffic calming and pedestrian measures in the vicinity of Waterford Educate Together National School and Carrickpherish Library and Community Sports Hub, Carrickpherish, Waterford. The proposed works include carriageway narrowing, footpath widening, buildouts, parking restrictions and place-making, including tree pits, flower beds, and colourful school gateway elements along Carrickpherish Road and Paráid na bPáistí, Waterford. The scheme also proposes junction tightening works at the top of Paráid na bPáistí Road, which will include pedestrian crossings on each approach to the junction. As part of the Safe Routes to School programme under Active Travel works in the area, the objective is to prioritise safe access to the school, improve school visibility through signposting and placemaking, and reduce vehicle speeds in the area. Works to be completed during school summer holidays 2024.
