Tender description

1.Upgrade of Mechanical and Electrical Services in the Specialist Woodwork and Engineering / Metalwork Classrooms to current TGD standard at both Raheen College E91 H9P7 and Clonmel Technical Institute E91 K2E2. The four specialist rooms affected comprise a total floor area of circa 525 m2, are currently very sub-standard and require emergency remedial works to comply with current standards and health and safety regulations. The school has procured new woodworking and metalworking equipment for each of these classrooms and propose alterations to the room layouts to suit the new equipment and a general upgrade to bring the services up to current health and safety standards. Additionally at Raheen CollegeE91 H9P7 works to the dust extraction system and gas services Science Rooms and Home Economics room. The main heating pipework from the boiler room is run at high level within the adjacent general classroom and as the pipework is not insulated the heat loss to the room gives rise to continual overheating in the classroom which is not controllable by the room occupants. An upgrade to fit insulation is required to prevent overheating. 2. Upgrade of the life safety systems (Emergency Lighting and Fire Detection and Alarm) throughout Raheen College E91 H9P7and Clonmel Technical Institute E91 K2E2 to current Irish Standards IS 3217 and IS 3218 and relevant TGDs 3. Specialist removal of asbestos containing bitumen tile adhesive total floor area of 395m2 comprising of 4 classrooms and to reinstate with new safety flooring to current TGD standard at Raheen College E91 H9P7
