AMPP265 - Hot and Cold Water Replacement Works - Howley Grange Primary School

Tender description

The work to be carried out comprises the mechanical services installation to replace part of the hot & mains cold water services at Howley Grange Primary School, Halesowen. This includes replacing the incoming mains cold water service. The existing internal mains cold water pipework located within ducts, high level, ceiling voids and throughout the school shall be disconnected and removed where practical. All redundant hot & cold-water pipes protruding from a floor or floor duct shall be removed back to floor level and made good. There shall be no works in existing floor ducts. The incoming mains cold water service enters the building in a Kitchen Store area close to the main car park. The existing water main currently runs below ground down the front drive through to the main car park. There is also an additional mains cold water supply serving a remote Community room. The Contractor shall ensure that this supply remains connected during the works. A new below ground mains cold water pipe shall connect into the existing external stop valve at the boundary of the School, then run below ground and rise up in the existing Store area adjacent to the Kitchen servery. The new water main shall follow and replace the route of the existing water main which is in poor condition. Within the School, various areas of hot & cold water pipework shall be removed and replaced with new. All as detailed on the Mechanical Services drawings. The hot water service is currently provided by electric hot water cylinders. The hot water cylinder in the Boiler Room serves the Kitchen, Staff Toilets & Care Room. 3 No. electric hot water cylinders serve all other areas. These 3 No. cylinders will be removed and replaced with new as part of these works. Additional information: Is a Recurrent Procurement Type? : No
