Tender description

Timely access to flight data is important following a serious incident or accident. The Air Accidents Investigation Branch therefore requires accident recovery equipment to avoid delays in accessing data from Enhanced Airborne Flight Recorders (EAFRs) following any accident. This contract covers purchase of an EAFR data recovery kit from GE Aerospace. The contract was awarded on 4th January 2024. For the purposes of configuring this contract on the DfT's finance system, the contract will be allocated a maximum value of £33,000.00 excl. VAT and an end date of 29/07/2025. The EAFR, and associated recovery equipment is only manufactured by GE. For this reason, competition is absent, and this contract can be direct awarded.
