Collection & processing of Mattresses from Mid and East Antrim Household Recycling Centres

Tenders are invited from a suitably licensed contractor for the provision of the following services: The collection and processing of mattresses brought into 3 recycling centres within Mid and East Antrim Borough area. The Contract waste will comprise of varying types and sizes of mattresses. Mid and East Antrim Borough Council is committed to improving its effect on the environment by using environmentally friendly materials, practices and technologies where available. To achieve this aim, we wish to work with like-minded organisations who can demonstrate a similar commitment. The Council wishes to move the treatment of materials further up the waste hierarchy away from landfilling, recovery and open loop recycling, and into the realms of closed-loop recycling, remanufacturing, reuse and repair. Council wishes to promote and support the development of Circular Economy solutions to keep goods and materials in circulation, to make the best use and get the greatest value out of them.
