Online server and community for 100 autistic young people living in Bedford

Spectrum Gaming will be providing the following Services for Bedford Borough Council: • Access for 100 young people to the Spectrum Gaming ‘Bedford’ server • Face-to-face role working in Bedford in year 2, meeting logistics to be supported by a 3rd party provider in Bedford. This hybrid role will work 20 hours online and face to face running 2-4 meet ups per week • 100 places for Bedford parents on the Spectrum Gaming parent/adult 6-week training, to be run 4 times over 2 years, including a QA session for Bedford parents after the 6 week programme • A minimum of 10, 90-minute online monthly sessions for children and young people over 2 years, based on different topics based around understanding your ‘Autistic Self’, for example, OCD, Sleep, Managing meltdowns, Autistic burnout, Education. Each month this will also include: o Create a 10-15 minute video to share information about the topic (for young people who may struggle to access an interactive session o Create/ share some written information covering the topic of the month, aimed at autistic young people o Create a resource pack for parents and professionals covering the topic of the month. o Open up a channel in our Discord community focused on the topic of the month so young people can chat, ask questions and share reflections before and after accessing any of the content. o Run a 90 minute online talk with chat and Q&A on the topic. o Create “train the trainer materials” and content on the topic of the month, so that parents and professionals can deliver this same content to other young people, if they would like to. • Following on from this a 6-week programme will run for children and young people, with 5 6-week sessions over 2 years. A training session for parents to co-inside with each 6-week programme • EBSA guidance and a 2-day face to face train the trainer course to deliver EBSA training • Resources, slides and ways of working developed as part of this work will be shared with the Local Authority with written guidance on how to prepare and deliver sessions • Other opportunities that may arise during the period for us to work collaboratively
